Book Reviews

Here will eventually be every review for everything I have read. For the time being only some of the more recent ones will be listed as transferring my older reviews to this new format requires a lot of manual labour and rewriting.

Iron flame cover art

Iron Flame (The Empyrean #2)

Iron Flame disappoints with poor world-building, immature characters, and predictable plot. It’s peak YA trash with dragons but it’s very entertaining. 6/10
Fourth Wing cover art

Fourth Wing (The Empyrean #1)

Fourth Wing: Fun YA fantasy with dragons, romance, and action. Despite the teen angst, and weak world-building, it’s entertaining, a real guilty pleasure. 7/10
The Seven Year Slip cover art

The Seven Year Slip

The Seven Year Slip is a forgettable time travel romance with a weak plot and unearned love story. Painfully average. 5.5/10

Tangled Up In You (Meant To Be #4)

Tangled Up In You: Disney’s Tangled as a romance book with charming leads but weak plot and the story struggles with its darker themes. 6/10.

The Return of The King (The Lord of The Rings #3)

The Return of The King is a finale rich in lore and depth, with many standout moments. A bittersweet farewell to a world built with heartfelt care. 8.5/10

The Two Towers (The Lord Of The Rings #2)

The Two Towers shines in Ent lore, Saruman’s chilling presence, and rich worldbuilding, but Frodo’s half stalls with its weak pacing. 7.5/10
